هذا البحث يتناول - تحديد مطلع الهلال بالحساب الفلكي - وهذه المسألة تعد مِن المسائل الفقهية التي استجد عليها وحدث فيها من تطورات العصر ما قد يؤثر على حكمها السابق، فقد كان علم الفلك قديماً يتبناه المنجمين، ويكان مبناه على الحدس والتخمين، وأما لآن وبفضل الله ثم بفضل التطور الحاضر أصبحت هذه القضية من القضايا الفقهية المعاصرة، أصبح هذا العلم من العلوم المحسوسة المبنية على الحقائق المجردة، فهو كغيره من علوم المعاصرة كعلم الكيمياء والهندسة وغيرها.
وتوصل البحث إلى:

جواز الأخذ بالحساب الفلكي في إثبات أوائل الشهور إذا غمي على الرائي للهلال بما يكون حاجباً له عن الرؤيا المباشرة.
الحساب الفلكي المعاصر المبني على العلم، كغيره من العلوم الأخرى؛ كالهندسة، والطب، وغيرها، وقد يكتسب الدقة والقطعية، وليس كالحساب الذي تكلَّم عنه السلف المبني على التنجيم والحدس والتخمين.
أن سبب منع الفقهاء المعاصرين في الأخذ بالحساب الفلكي، هو عدم اكتسابه القطعية، وما وصل إليه علم الفلك المعاصر من الدقة التي تأخذ القطعية، جعل طريقًا مقبولًا يحقق ما تحققه الرؤية البصرية.

This is a research that deals with - determining the beginning of the crescent by astronomical calculation - and this issue is considered one of the jurisprudential issues in which new developments occurred in the era that may affect its previous ruling. In ancient times, astronomy was adopted by astrologers, and its foundation was based on intuition and guesswork, but now, by the grace of God, then Thanks to current development, this issue has become one of the contemporary jurisprudential issues. This science has become one of the tangible sciences based on abstract facts. It is like other contemporary sciences, such as chemistry, engineering, and others
 
It is permissible to use astronomical calculations in determining the beginning of the months if the person seeing the crescent moon loses consciousness, which obstructs him from direct vision.
 
Contemporary astronomical calculation based on science, like other sciences; Such as engineering, medicine, and others, and it may acquire accuracy and certainty, and it is not like the calculation that the predecessors talked about, which is based on astrology, intuition, and guesswork
